Data Subject Access Request (DSAR)

Under data protection laws such as the UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data that we hold. This page explains how to submit a request.

Please note that the data we hold depends on how you have interacted with our Services (Website, Mobile App, or Browser Extension).

Types of Requests You Can Make

  • Request Access: You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request Correction: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Request Deletion (Erasure): You can ask us to permanently delete your personal information. Please see our Managing Your Data & Subscriptions page for more details on this process.
  • Request Data Portability: You can ask us to provide your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Object to Processing: You can object to certain types of processing of your personal data, such as marketing communications.
  • Restrict Processing: You can ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances.

How to Submit a Request

To ensure the security of your data, all data subject access requests must be submitted via email from the email address associated with your data (e.g., the email you used to create your account or subscribe to our newsletter).

Please send an email to [email protected] with a clear subject line, such as “Data Access Request” or “Data Deletion Request.”

What to Include in Your Email:

  1. Your Full Name.
  2. The Email Address associated with your account or subscription.
  3. The type of request you are making (e.g., “I would like a copy of my data,” or “Please delete all of my data.”).
  4. Specific details if your request relates to particular data or processing activities (e.g., “I want to access my Discovery Rewards transaction history” or “I want to delete my saved tools”).

Providing this information clearly will help us process your request more efficiently.

Verification Process: For security reasons, we will need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will do this by responding to the email you send from. Please be prepared to confirm your request by replying to our verification email. This step is crucial to prevent unauthorised access to or deletion of your data.

What Data We Hold

Depending on how you use PerkLedger, we may hold different types of data about you:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted), account creation date
  • Membership Data: Premium subscription status, billing information (processed by Paddle)
  • Discovery Rewards Data: Claim history, approval status, wallet balance, withdrawal records
  • Usage Data: Saved tools, bookmarked perks, search history, page views
  • Marketing Data: Newsletter subscription status, email engagement metrics
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies

How Long Will It Take?

We will acknowledge your request upon receipt and aim to respond substantively within one month, as required by law. If the request is complex (for example, if it involves multiple systems or a large amount of data), we may extend this period by a further two months, but we will inform you if this is the case.

Your Rights Are Free

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive. Alternatively, we could refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

Important Notes

  • Pending Rewards: If you request deletion of your account and have pending Discovery Rewards claims or wallet balance, we will notify you before completing the deletion. You will forfeit any outstanding rewards if you proceed.
  • Legal Retention: In some cases, we may be required by law to retain certain data (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes) even after you request deletion. We will inform you if this applies.
  • Third-Party Data: We can only provide data that we hold directly. If you have accounts with partner brands accessed through PerkLedger, you will need to contact those brands directly for their data.
